Generate evidence

We are data-driven and guided by research from experts around the world to develop tools, standards and insights that inform policy decisions and drive lasting impact.

Throughout 2025, Minderoo and its partners generated the evidence and insights needed to shape laws, systems and outcomes.

We commissioned comprehensive national research to understand Australians’ views on Artificial Intelligence to help shape policy. Our Plastics and Human Health team continued to publish and support studies showing the harm plastics chemicals have on the human body, translating science into action through the launch of the PlasticHealthAware dashboard.

By building evidence that supports law and policy reform, we shine a light on challenges, influence public debate and sharpen the solutions needed for lasting change.

Case study

PlasticHealthAware Dashboard

We know chemicals found in plastic are harmful to human health, but with so many scientific findings published across thousands of articles, getting a clear picture is hard.

Minderoo’s Plastics and Human Health team partnered with Boston College to develop the PlasticHealthAware Dashboard, which presents findings from a broad and complex body of plastics research in an easy to digest format, that anyone can access from a computer or mobile device.

The dashboard was launched in August in Geneva during the INC 5.2 negotiations for a Global Plastics Treaty to end plastic pollution and protect human health.

With PlasticHealthAware, negotiators, scientists, the UN, policy makers and observers could quickly and easily access scientifically reliable evidence on plastic health harms.

INC-5.2 didn’t deliver the treaty outcome many had hoped for, but Minderoo will continue to advocate for people and planet to be protected using tools like the PlasticHealthAware Dashboard.

PlasticHealthAware Dashboard

Moving away from traditional reports, PlasticHealthAware is an interactive dashboard customisable to suit your interests, whatever your walk of life.

PlasticHealthAware is hosted on Boston College’s Global Observatory on Planetary Health, which tracks the impacts of planetary degradation on human health and develops science-based solutions.

PlasticHealthAware is funded by Minderoo Foundation as a collaboration with Boston College.

Spotlight

Working together to end gender based violence

Minderoo hosted a powerful gender-based violence (GBV) offsite that brought together 40 attendees spanning lived experience, advocacy, campaigning, law reform, consent education, men’s engagement, GBV services and more.

The workshop, held at Wiseman’s Ferry, New South Wales, focused on how six upcoming films from Minderoo Pictures’ slate – each exploring a different aspect of GBV – can act as levers for change across communities, systems and policy.

Participants collaborated across portfolios, deepened their understanding of community insights from focus group research and the current political landscape, and explored new ways to enable change.

It’s the first time Minderoo has taken a portfolio approach to films invested in on a key strategic issue, bringing in experts to support partners in shaping their impact strategies.
